I have not seen it. We used to do it manually, but I do not do it anymore.

We do not do it, because on most of our boards we just didn't have space for it ... and then when I found out that it is not needed, I just stopped doing it. I may be wrong, but I think the purpose of this is to check if your layers are correctly ordered.
If you like and you have space, you can still do it ... especially if your board has to be very cheap and you have to use the cheapest PCB manufacturers, maybe then it could be useful (just to be sure they correctly built your stackup)?
