Questions on "How to Make Custom ESP32 Board in Altium Designer | Full Tutorial"

If we refer on the ESP32 Board Schematic it is indicated that there is a ERC on pin 4 & 2. I was wondering why you put an connection on pin 2 & 1 in the tutorial if its indicated on the ESP32 schematic that there is ERC on pin 4&2?

1) Do note that the pin numbering between the two screenshots differ!2) Altium by default does not complain when a pin is not connected, so no ERC exception is required.3) Personally I would always connect the two pins together on one end (3+4 and 1+2 as shown in the left picture).

from the schematic symbol you can see which pins are internally connected together. so when drawing schematic you can decide what to do with the opposite pin, normally I would connect it and would not leave it floating.

Thanks for the answer

on 1:22:26 of the video can you explain why we use a jumper instead of a Diode?
Robert Feranec , 04-12-2025, 06:28 AM
jumper is the easiest solution to prevent any conflicts between multiple power supplies connected to the same power rail.
