Want to make living from hardware design.

Hi all! What can I do to work as a hardware designer? To make a living from designing devices?

Do you mean like an employee or a freelancer?
Marcin Wątorski , 09-20-2024, 10:06 PM
Both would work for me, if I would take part in the whole process of design

You may need to provide more information ... e.g. what is your current experience or have you tried to look for a job, etc. because your question is very generic, normally you would study electronics and find a job as a junior engineer.

I am an educated electronics engineer and have already designed some pcbs (also working ones). I've even had a job as a junior engineer, but the work for a big corporation made me hate electronics for a long period of time. Now, I want to get back into business, but don't know, where to look for companies, where I wouldn't be just a small fish in a big ocean

In most companies I worked for, the electronics team was small with less than 5 engineers. Each had their own product/project. In a sense doing product design from A to Z. Don't know if that is what you want?

Yeah, something like that 😄
