Cheat sheet for shortcut keys for Allegro PCB

PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 02:55 PM
Is there any cheat sheet someone has made for Allegro, I am struggling a little bit with switching between modes for the Layout. ESC doesnt do anything. switching between F3 (trace) and F9 is very cumbersome, and I dont even know how you delete a trace which is proving to be frustrating (Haven't fully competed the learning course from the academy but need something for my own project).
Any shortcut keys for commands, a cheat sheet of list of commands will be highly appreciated.

Also how the heck do you mirror a footprint, there is a mirror command but I am quite certain it mirrors it to the opposite side of the board in 3 dimensional plane rather than along a 2D axis

this may help you: https://youtu.be/042sS4OEKIM?si=p1M1UFAIce7HjqEQ&t=1144

thank you robert
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 04:27 PM
also @Robert Feranec or @anyone how to mirror a footprint along the 2D axis?
QDrives , 03-29-2024, 05:04 PM
Mirror a footprint in 2D??? You can rotate a footprint (180°) or flip it to the other side, but "mirror"?
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:07 PM
As in along the X-Y axis
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:08 PM
so you can see how I want the VSP3 signal on the outer edge rather than inwards for this switch:
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:09 PM
Or is there no way to go about this?
SirJames , 03-29-2024, 05:36 PM
thats something you have to do in your circuit diagram
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:38 PM
Oh as in schematic?
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:38 PM
thanks do much
SirJames , 03-29-2024, 05:39 PM
yes
SirJames , 03-29-2024, 05:40 PM
also, you have to use thinner lines for Vcc because now they are causing DRC errors
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:41 PM
thanks
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:50 PM
well I check my schematic, what do you mean change what:
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:50 PM
As in the symbol itself?
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:50 PM
or the footprint?
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:51 PM
I think I guessed my answer, it should be the footprint not anything in ORCAD capture rather the footprint
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 05:53 PM
But can a vendor footprint be changed I am wrong I guess, it will change the connections pin configuration
SirJames , 03-29-2024, 06:12 PM
oh, I didnt know its mosfet. It looks more like a connector to me
SirJames , 03-29-2024, 06:14 PM
well, you cant change pin configuration of any IC because it won't match reality (as in datasheet of your mosfet)
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 06:18 PM
So whats the solution just jump the signal via via
SirJames , 03-29-2024, 06:23 PM
you can go around or go on opposite layer, right?
PMICnewbie , 03-29-2024, 06:32 PM
Yes
QDrives , 03-30-2024, 09:22 PM
A BGA packaged MOSFET.
Well, @SirJames said most of it already. You cannot "mirror' the way you think/want. It is how it is as that is how the manufacturer of the part assigned them.
Beside using a thinner trace for VCC_ARROW, to prevent short circuit (DRC/production DfM) it is no use making the source wider than the drain as the current is equal through both.

@QDrives thankyou
