I ordered several of this same GaN charger at least that is what is claimed on AliExpress. Today, I used a USB A charging cable to charge a phone with one of them it worked for a few minutes before i hearda pop sound and a very bitter smell emanating from the USB A port where it was connected. It is not a normal burning smell it is VERY bitter and vile, the charger was hot. I opened it up and the solder is all over the place I am surprised this even wroked fora few minutes to begin with. Does this look like GaN?

Also there is an extra USB A that is hidden apparently because the outer shell only shows 2 usb C and 1 usb A

the other 2 chargers I had connected a low power Zigbee repeater that uses type C and they work fine so far, no overheating

additionally, the cable I used to charge the phone was one of those with a 7 segment LED that shows how many W is passing through, I wasn't quick charging

I do not know if there is a GaN FET in SO8 package. Have not seen one.
But this charger is an EMC nightmare.

That is will be illegal in most countries.
