Signal integrity and Power integrity simulation
Haythemjls , 02-21-2025, 09:52 AM
Hello, Currently I'm working on a complex PCB which includes high-speed signals (MIPI, USB, Ethernet). Do you recommend performing simulation to ensure their integrity, as well as Power integrity? Else do you think juste following design rules and guidelines will be enough?

From my experience, I only simulate boards where I need to break important rules (e.g. memory tracks routed very close to each other) or where I am not sure (e.g. too long tracks). You definitely need simulations if you are designing something very new or if you go above standard boards (e.g. high currents in hundreds of Amps or speed above 5-10GHz).

Thank you for your feedback Robert, which software tool do you propose to simulate signal integrity? I use Altium to draw the PCB.

they are similar, important is, which of them you can access to

Hi Robert! Do you recommend to use "Altair PollEx" or "Sigrity Aurora " as software tools to simulate signal inteegrity after PCB layout?
