STM32 Vs ESP32

The Chosen One , 01-20-2025, 02:25 PM
Just a question on choosing between these microcontrollers.

If I have a project where I require a lot of I/O pins and is a low power system (24V max), is the STM32 a better choice?

I have researched the difference between the two and advantages but all the answers I can find are the same "Esp32 excels in IoT applications while STM32 excels in inudstrial appliations where intesenive computing power is needed"

I am mostly wondering that if I am using a lot of GPIO pins for the ESP32, would that make the STM32 a better choice since its known for its stronger computing power?

What do you need?
What are your requirements?

STM32

it has way more IO per chip and way more options

BUT IF you need wifi or BT ESP32 is better

what do u need the compute power for?

If there is no specific requirements for IO ports, the PCA9698 can be used to extend their number.
It connects via I2C interface.
