Looking for Board Recommendations – BLE + LoRa for Safehub Project

Hi everyone! I'm working on a project called Safehub, which enables people to send alerts (accident, harassment, emergency, etc.) during large events or in remote areas. Because internet is often unavailable, we're building a mesh communication system using Bluetooth (BLE 5.0) and LoRa (Meshtastic modules).

I already have Meshtastic LoRa modules, and now I'm looking for a second board to pair with them.

The difference user devices will pair with the module and sync the data from it

I'm looking for a development board that meets the following criteria:

🔹 Supports BLE 5.0 (preferably long range and high power)
🔹 Can act as both Peripheral and Central (for custom Bluetooth mesh behavior) is it even possible ?
🔹 Battery-powered with good autonomy
🔹 Ideally compact, so I can stack it or attach it directly to a Meshtastic node
🔹 Some local storage ?
🔹 Bonus: If you’ve already done BLE + Meshtastic combo projects, I’d love your insights!

The idea is to have each alert go through BLE first, then be forwarded to the Meshtastic network, and eventually reach the internet when available.

Any advice on boards, power management, or BLE+LoRa integration is welcome!
