Rolf Ostergaard

Rolf V. Ostergaard (M.Sc.EE) from EE-Training has worked with signal integrity in many different projects since working for 3Com in 1998 as a colleague to Lee Ritchey in Silicon Valley. While building a consulting business focused on advanced electronics and embedded software in Denmark, Rolf has been helping many companies with signal integrity and power integrity both as design, simulations, coaching, measurements, and troubleshooting. He started conducting training in SI around 2004 and has trained thousands of engineers around the world.

Rolfs company EE-Training delivers high-quality training courses for serious electronic engineers wanting to stay at the top of the curve, with a special passion for signal-integrity and high-speed hardware design since 2004. The humble but significant vision is to keep electronic design as an important part of the local economy by world-class education of local engineers.

How this all started? Back in 1999, while working for 3Com, Rolf faced a tough problem getting a fairly advanced cable modem product to pass EMI testing on a 4-layer board. This turned into a hunt for both a solution to the problem at hand and a deeper understanding. Luckily enough, Lee Ritchey happened to be working in the same building. That turned into a fascination for signal integrity and a long friendship and training partnership.

Fast forward to 2004, this topic became the cornerstone training course for what later became EE-Training. After an exit from a consulting company founded to do advanced electronics and embedded software design projects, EE-Training became a focused effort. A partnership as a certified instructor for Doulos cemented the position as a respected trainer in signal integrity worldwide.

As the organizer of Nordic SI Week, Rolf has demonstrated that pulling in 60+ paying participants for a topic this unique and truly niche is doable – even with a full-week program.

Rolf teaches classes worldwide for top companies in the industry and really prefers the live format where theory can be mixed in with practical labs and discussions that go beyond the prepared course material.
